Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area has allowed me to do my fair share of scouring different home stores. From Sonoma to San Francisco, this region is home to some incredible shops filled with an array of goods from local artisans. Here is a roundup of my five favorite home stores in the Bay Area, each offering completely different items and unique hidden gems.
General Store: Located in the heart of San Francisco’s outer sunset District, General Store is a true representation of SF style. Combining art, jewelry and home accents this store embodies laid back, cool California. One of my favorite features is the garden shed (pictured above) behind the store. The shed is filed to the brim with plants and is such cool feature to photograph.
Moss & Daughters: Tucked away down a brick lined alleyway in Mill Valley is Moss & Daughters. Although the space is very small, it is one of my favorite destinations for small gifts and cards. Another reason to stop in, their expansive selection of gorgeous milk glass cake stands in jade, pink and white.
Big Daddy’s Antiques: This is unlike any antique store I have ever been to! The massive space is located in the Potrero Hill Neighborhood, close to the San Francisco Design Center. Big Daddy’s is so layered, you could spend hours here sifting through all of the amazing furniture, art and decor.
SHED: Shed is the perfect destination for any foodie. Apart of Sonoma County’s wine country, this gem is located in downtown Healdsburg. Shed is much more than a store offering gifts and cooking supplies. It is a restaurant, bakery, flower shop and coffee shop. Their perfectly styled shelves and table displays are my favorite feature. Bonus; downtown Healdsburg is so fun to walk around! I like to start at Shed and work my way around all the small shops by the square.

Serena & Lily: Headquartered in Sausalito, CA, Serena & Lily is known for their preppy style with a playful California vibe. Their flagship store is located on design haven, Sacramento Street in San Francisco’s Laurel Heights neighborhood. The vignettes in this store make my eyes light up with their colorful palettes and overall clean aesthetic. This store is also a design studio offering interior design services and custom upholstery.
