Even though we have a relatively mild winter here in Northern California, I spend the colder months longing for spring. After the craziness of the holiday season dies down I love to have family or friends over for a spring brunch. Setting a table has long been one of my favorite aspects of entertaining and over the years I have found, to make a beautiful table you really don’t have to spend a lot of money. There are so many ways to mix and match pieces and create layers all while staying on a budget.
For this table I paired classic white dishes with champagne colored chargers from the dollar bins at Target! I also incorporated the ombre napkins last seen here and delicate brass accents. The bright floral runner was fifteen dollars at Home Goods and makes a huge impact with color and pattern.
I also wanted to keep the florals fresh and bright so I stuck to a soft palette of white hydrangeas and pink roses while adding pops of freesias and tuberose (the smell was heavenly!) I bought the florals at the San Francisco Flower Mart which is always my favorite when hosting a gathering because you can buy in bulk (think two dozen roses for $14!) Another inexpensive way I like to incorporaate color is by placing fruit on the table. I chose tangerines with the stems still intact for a beautiful orange punch. This setting definitely made me feel like winter was over!
