I clearly love every holiday and any excuse to give someone a gift. You would think for my love of entertaining and parties I would always be on my A game with gift wrapping, but I often find myself struggling to purchase items on time and have them wrapped nicely ahead of schedule. I now stick to a few very simple styles that makes wrapping gifts very quick and inexpensive.
I find one of the easiest solutions is to have a variety of items on hand. I don’t have a large supply closet of wrapping paper and gift bags, just a small storage bin I keep under my bed. Anytime I come across cute hang tags, fun wrapping paper or ribbon that could work for any occasion I get it just to have when I’m in a last minute rush. Below are some of the themes I try and stick to everytime.

Who would have thought brown butcher paper would make the perfect wrapping paper? I just love the rustic look of butcher paper and natural jute ribbon. When paired with colorful flowers and some rosemary sprigs, new life is given to a sea of brown. This is my absolute go to combination. I use it for birthdays, baby showers or christmas presents because it is very easy to change up with different flowers or hang tags.

Rifle Paper Co. makes some of my favorite paper goods. Their whimsical wrapping papers are so beautiful and perfect for every occasion. I’m not a huge fan of baby related gift wrap for a shower, so I like to do a nice bright floral in a colorway related to the sex of the baby.

When attending a wedding or bridal shower, I like to give a gift with a muted appearance. Something wrapped in white usually does the trick. I will often pair this with a bright white ribbon or something fun like the sheer hearts above.

Like I said, I am the queen of the last minute gift so both of these styles are perfect for that. I love the small gift boxes and bags from Paper Source because they are easy to store and can be dressed up with ribbon or tissue paper.
You can easily create fun and unique gift wrapping in under five minutes. The key is to buy items ahead of time, even if you don’t need them at the moment. No likes running out to Target thirty minutes before a party to buy tissue paper and a bag, so a little planning goes a long way!
