I am a huge fan of a leisurely outdoor lunch with good food and a crisp glass of wine. Long summer days are meant for entertaining outdoors, but it should be simple and easy. When setting a table outside, I tend to keep the decor a bit muted so the food and the surroundings stand out. For this monochromatic garden lunch, I stuck to white and beige linens, and bright white and leafy green florals.
My mom once told me not to make name cards at small get togethers (thanks mom!) and just let people sit where they want. So instead of placecards often I will attach hangtags to the napkins with a little saying or a festive stamp. To finish off the look I added fresh rosemary sprigs and tied them with natural burlap string.
I got this large cloche at Home Goods and love using it for centerpieces. The base brings a rustic element to the table while the glass allows you to showcase flowers or decorative objects. I have also used it to display different cheeses.
