California is still in the midst of a drought, but I can’t help but take a bath every once in a while. I find a long soak in the tub to be one of the most relaxing activities. My routine consists of lighting a candle, turning on some Billie Holliday and shutting out the world for a good twenty minutes. I get some of my best reading done in the bath and I try to leave my phone out of the room so I am not drawn to Instagram or emails.
Since I really indulge when taking a bath I have a few favorite items that make it feel more like a quick spa trip. There isn’t a Jo Malone product I don’t like, but I have really been into their bath products lately. This body scrub is heavenly! It’s thick, moisturizing and really sloughs off dead skin. My favorite part is the scent. The combination of Geranium and Walnut is not something I would normally gravitate towards, but it is very fresh. I also love this bath oil, which differs from a bubble bath, but leaves my skin feeling smooth and smelling great after.
I round out my soak with a great face mask. I find it is the perfect time to do so as I have no where else to be and can leave the mask on for the intended amount of time. Two bath accessories I use constantly are the Serena and Lily stool which fits perfectly next to the tub. It is the best spot to set up a speaker and candle. The World Market bamboo bath caddy was also a great inexpensive purchase, where I can set down a book or a glass of red wine!
