Happy New Year! It is hard to believe 2017 is already here, but with a new year comes the feeling of starting fresh and implementing changes. Instead of going to a New Year’s Eve party, Daniel and I prefer to go somewhere just the two of us. This year we decided on an easy staycation in charming Sonoma. Although we live so close to Sonoma and spend a lot of time there, it was nice to have a leisurely day exploring and a great night at The El Dorado.
Just about every time we’re in Sonoma we end up having Mexican food for lunch. There are so many great options downtown, but on this trip we decided on El Molina Central in Boyes Hot Springs. I love the interior of this tiny restaurant, with its bold tile floors and bright red bistro chairs. The food is delicious authentic Mexican food that will not disappoint (seriously the chips and guac are life changing!) El Molina is a popular spot, so I find it’s best to get there a bit early to avoid the prime lunchtime crowds.
After El Molina we checked out Beltane Ranch in Glen Ellen as a possible place to stay next time. I immediately fell in love with this property and couldn’t get over how peaceful it was. We will definitely be back! From Beltane Ranch we headed to one of our favorite wineries in the area, B.R. Cohn. We are now members of their wine club, so it is fun to do a tasting or sit outside with a glass of wine.
