This past winter I got sick a lot more than I normally do. The holidays definitely have a way of taking it out of me and now that I am settled into the year I am making an active effort to include healthy additions to my daily routine. I have started making wellness shots about three times a week that all impact different areas. The three things I care about most are immune system (please no more colds!), skin and digestion. This Vitamin C rich shot helps all three of those things and I haven’t gotten sick since I started taking them.

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice (approx. 2 oranges)
Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (1/2 Lemon)
(1) 1- inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
1/3 tsp. ground turmeric
Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
I like to blend mine in our Magic Bullet because it chops up the ginger and mixes all of the flavors really well. For this shot I added a bit of coconut water to make it more of a drink and it tastes so good. I will be adding more recipes similar to this to the Health and Wellness section in the upcoming weeks to balance out all of my dessert recipes, so be sure to check back!
