All About Frosé

I am always looking for new drink recipes to try and lately I have been hearing a lot about Frosé. I am all for a cold blended drink especially in the summer and when it combines a few of my favorite things like chilled Rosé and fresh strawberries, I’m in! This recipe is so easy to make, it just requires a little bit of prep work ahead of time because you will have to freeze the Rosé in an ice cube tray for at least six hours. This is a perfect drink for any Fourth of July party with its punchy red hue and light summer taste.

Frosé Recipe

1 bottle of your favorite Rosé

8 ounces Strawberries, hulled

Juice from 1 1/2 Large Lemons

1/2 cup Granulated Sugar

1 Ice Cube Tray

Pour bottle of Rosé into ice cube tray filling the spaces to the top (there will be some wine left over). Freeze overnight or for at least 6 hours. It is going to have an icy consistency unlike an ice cube due to the alcohol in the Rosé.

One cubes are frozen. Bring sugar and ½ cup water to a boil in a saucepan whisk constantly until sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes. Add strawberries, turn off the heat, and let sit 30 minutes to infuse syrup with strawberry flavor. Strain through a very fine colander into a bowl cover and chill until cold (about 30 mins)

Pop out the Rosé cubes and place in a blender. Add lemon juice, strawberry syrup and some additional crushed ice until smooth. Pour into pretty glasses and top with fresh strawberries or edible flowers.
