One of my favorite ways to change up our space is in the details. I get bored really easily and with our living room I find that mixing in new pillows every now and then really makes a huge difference. I like playing around with different colors, textures and sizes to find the perfect combination, so I was very excited when I recently discovered Kufri Textiles and wanted to purchase everything on their site. I knew their beautiful hand woven textiles would blend perfectly into my space and I had so much fun looking for combinations that I thought would work well.
Kufri is a great company with a strong mission. In addition to creating unique textiles, designer Mili Suleman uses handloom weaving. Her work is guided by the principles of shibui, which creates a unique quality in the textile itself. The result of this approach is slubs, bars and slight irregularities which give all of the fabrics a quality that no mass-producing machine can replicate. I buy a lot of pillows and these are definitely quality pieces with an almost vintage like feel to them.
Two of the pillows I chose were the Rex in Black & Natural and the Takamaka in Grey & Blue. I love how the patterns pair together and the colors work of each other perfectly. You have already seen the Rex in Blush in my home tour photos, but the blush color is stunning in person. It has a really nice richness to it and works so well with our blue grey colored sofa. One of my favorite aspects about Kufri textiles is how lived in they feel. The fabrics are not stiff, yet are solid and durable and somehow feel like they have been on my couch for ages.
Kufri offers a gorgeous array of patterns and colors and some of the other pieces I have had my eye on are the Agra Lumbar, Kyra Pink and White Dots in Deep Navy. All of the pillows I have seen on the website play so well off one another so it is really easy to mix and match and create a pretty palette. Ya’ll know I love strong, women led companies with incredible craft and Kufri just went to the top of my list. You can shop their full collection on the website here and for a limited time if you email Mili your order directly she will give Harlowe James readers a special discount!
Thank you so much to Kufri Textiles for collaborating on this post!
