September Q&A

Books To Style With

You all know by now coffee table books are my building blocks to accessorizing most rooms. I often get asked about some of my favorite books and even though I have the coffee table book shop page, I thought it would be nice to share a few I have been loving lately or that I have my eye on. Changing up books is one of my go to methods to keeping a room from looking stale. I will rotate between my shelves, coffee table and console to create new vignettes that freshen up my space.

Adding a monochromatic stack on a shelf or the table can bring in a lot of texture and look so chic. I also wanted to point out that I do remove the jackets from a lot of my books. I recently got asked about it on Instagram and realized I don’t think I ever touched on it before. My boss taught me this trick years ago because a lot of books have really beautiful covers underneath the jacket. Some show a great texture or a much more simplistic design making it ideal for a top view on a coffee table or a cleaner spine on a shelf.

Do you keep or recycle the book covers as you’re not using them? I’m about to do this to all of our books, but a little nervous to get rid of them… not even sure why!

    Hi Tieka!

I keep some of the ones I really like, but for the most part I recycle them. I totally know what you mean – it feels weird to get rid of them, but I don’t think I have ever once put one back on.
