I can’t believe I am actually writing my first wedding related blog post! This one is extra special because although we got engaged less than a month ago we have already booked our venue! I knew where I wanted us to get married before Daniel even proposed.. so typical! We didn’t even have to tour one space, which is actually amazing. I can’t belive we were even able to secure a date because this property books up so far in advance, but we will be getting married at Boone Hall Plantation outside of Charleston on October 16, 2020!
When I lived in Savannah I used to venture up to Charleston often and the first time I stepped foot on the grounds of Boone Hall I was completely awestruck. Breathtaking doesn’t even begin to cover what this plantation looks like. I am constantly inspired by the south and the lowcountry holds such a special place in my heart. It will be very exciting to show our friends and families around a city I love so much. Daniel is most excited about the food (hello fried chicken!) The color palette we are going for is based of the tones seen throughout downtown Charleston and will have a very soft and romanic fall feel. An Al fresco reception under string lighting and airy linens sprinkled with rustic florals is pretty much all I have ever wanted and I am very lucky Daniel is on board with my vision. Of course music will play a giant role in the whole weekend so I am also looking forward to cranking out some playlists.
I am planning on keeping wedding content to somewhat of a minimum, but I know a lot of you wanted to see some of the planning process and what we will register for, so I will keep you updated as we move forward. As for now we are just enjoying this fun time and soaking everything in!
