I promised I would share wedding updates with you and now that we have been engaged for almost three months a lot has started to happen. Every time I get overwhelmed I try to remember that this is such an exciting time and time we will never get back. Logistics are annoying, but a necessary evil with wedding planning.
I was very against taking engagement photos because it didn’t really feel like “our thing” and I honestly didn’t see why we would need them. I suppose because I take so many photos, when it comes to my personal life I like things to be a little more low key. I am not a huge fan of portraits and like a more editorial approach which doesn’t always translate. As I started putting our wedding website together I realized it would be nice to have some cool shots and more recent photos of me and Daniel together. Since these were only for our website it was crucial to have more wide shots and soft details, less close ups of our faces.
Of course working with my favorite photographer and good friend Torrey made it all so much easier and she was able to capture stunning photos that felt very much like us! It helps so much to have a photographer that you love. I am not going to share all of the photos, but thought it would be nice to post some of the shots because I love how they turned out!
Love the sleeve detail on this dress
Since we are having our wedding across the country from where we live I have spent the first few months of engagement trying to get as much as possible done. I decided to use Squarespace for our wedding website because I was very familiar with the platform and I was able to do a lot more than some of the free sites offered. We are not working with a wedding planner, so for a destination wedding I look at the website as the logistical backbone which I wanted to have finished before our save the dates go out. We will be going out to Charleston in October, so I will definitely take you guys along!
