My Approach To Wedding Planning

Starting Off Spring With A Clean Slate

It is (almost) officially spring! I absolutely love this time of year for more reasons than just the sunny weather. Spring feels like the perfect time to kick start a lot, especially around the house. I have been wanting to make some updates to our bedroom for a while specifically with the rug. I love the jute we had before, but unfortunately Norman (our cat) liked to sink his claws into the weave and it no longer looked great.

I decided when we got a new rug it would be the perfect time to do a deep clean of our bedroom. We had to take the mattress out to get the rug under the bed so for the first time in forever I was able to clean the baseboards and thoroughly mop the floors. It feels so therapeutic to go through items under the bed and start a new season with a really clean space.

I have fallen in love with our new rug from Lulu & Georgia! The subtle pattern works so well with all of the neutrals in the room and makes the whole space feel brighter and cozier. I love that this rug is woven with viscose so it is a lot softer under foot than the jute was. The best news is Lulu & Georgia is currently running their family and friends sale so just about everything on the site is 25% off including the rug!

We also got this new lumbar pillow and jug vase which are the perfect details for freshening up the room. You definitely don’t need a lot of color and I love how relaxing and comfortable our bedroom feels. I rounded up some of my favorite pieces from the Lulu & Georgia sale on Instagram, but thought I would share them here as well.

Thank you to Lulu & Georgia for collaborating on this post

So relaxing and beautiful! Where did you get your bed skirt? I like the simplicity. Is it an 18ā€ drop?

    Hi Chrissy,

I wondered where you bought your ficus Audrey? I also live in Marin.

    Hi Dianne,

I got it at Delano Nursery at the San Francisco Flower Mart. They don’t always have them so I would call ahead just to check.

Iā€™m sure you get asked this all the time ā€” where is that lovely end of bed bench from?!

    Hi Bri,

It’s vintage from the Alameda Flea Market! They have a very similar one on Wisteria and usually have some on Etsy!
