Alternative Kitchen Island

On my ever growing list of things I dream about for when we buy a home; a vintage wood table or piece to be used in lieu of a traditional kitchen island. I love when kitchens feel like an extension of the living space and don’t feel too utilitarian or oversized. Using a vintage farm table or make shift island works so well, especially in a smaller space where you might not be able to fit a standard island. I also love that is isn’t permanent so you could open it up if need be. Alternatively, you could use a vintage piece and make it permanent by fixing it to the floor and adding a countertop. One of my all time favorite cool kitchens from Atelier AM (photo above) feels so inviting and serves as a perfect combination of a kitchen and dining space.
