My new favorite DÔEN dress. Flowy and comfortable with a cheerful pattern!

Things Of Note This Past Week
I have posted little snippets of Augie’s crib tent on Instagram and received a lot of questions about what I used to achieve this look. I looked everywhere for a rod to mount the fabric and was having no luck with anything I purchased (or even attempted to make). It had to protrude from the wall enough for the drape, be sturdy enough to hold the weight of the fabric, but not so heavy I wouldn’t be able to drill it into our plaster walls. I was elated when I found this adjustable curtain rod. It works perfectly and I love that you can pull it out to different distances depending on your bed or crib. The second question I always get is about the fabric and yardage. This totally depends on how high you want to mount the rod and the length of the bed or crib. For reference I did 6 yards because it is mounted quite high and I wanted it to pool on the floor a little. Everything else in his room is linked here.
What I’m Burning: Diptyque City Candles are back for a very limited time. I have tried a bunch over the years as new ones are released, but never London so I went with that this time. Initially it was for the striking silver vessel, but I love the unique mix of lilac and hyacinth reminiscent of an open air flower market.
I finally made it to the new DÔEN store at the Marin Country Mart which was very exciting! Their pieces are staples in my wardrobe, so it was fun to try everything on in person. I got the dress above which is one of those go to dresses I will live in season after season and this jacket (in salt) which is SO well made. I liked it more than the J Crew style because of the contrast color and sleeve detail. It is on the pricer side for more of an on trend piece, but just because barn jackets are popular now, doesn’t mean they aren’t classic – hello Princess Diana in Barbour! It is an oversized cut so you can size down, but I got the small to layer nicely with chunky sweaters in the fall.
We are in branch season! It is no secret I am a vase hoarder, but I truly use them all for various blooms. However, hearty branches often topple over so I wanted to find a classic large option. Enter my new favorite hurricane (see above with the cherry blossoms). We all love a multi functional piece – this looks beautiful with a single candle or as an oversized vase with branches. I have the small size which is deceiving because it is HUGE and such a great price for the size.
