Sunday Wrap Up {On A Monday}

Things Of Note This Past Week

Our drapery finally came for the living room and it makes such a big difference in the overall look! Drapery in a rental (especially in a custom size) can feel counterintuitive because you are paying for something that won’t necessarily work size wise when you move, but I truly think this is one of the home layers that makes the biggest impacts. It adds that needed texture that was sorely missing before. Since this is a rental I went with a somewhat cheaper option – which feels comical to say given the price per panel, but as most of you know nice drapery is just outrageously expensive. I love the look of a relaxed drape in a more formal room opposed to a pleated style that we have in other rooms. I used the Emery panels all throughout our old apartment and love the lightweight feel and look. They also do come in ready made panels and blackout if you have more standard window sizing.

The windows in this new place have been a challenge for me because we have so many and they are very tall. Great for natural light, but the cost can add up quickly. So for our bedroom I did these Amazon panels (also come in semi sheer if you don’t want blackout) which are great. The length was a touch longer than I would have done if they were custom, but they get the job done and are a fraction of the cost. In Augie’s room (which is south facing) I went with these panels because I wanted it to match the custom size blackout shade I did in there. The weight of the fabric with the blackout lining is quite heavy which is great for his room and keeping it cool in the summer. I use the same adjustable rods throughout my space because I like the cast iron finish and that I don’t need to get them cut to size. I always go for the .75″ diameter – the thin look is my favorite!

SHOP MY WINDOWS

Updating Activewear: It had been a while since I purchased new activewear and it always feels so good to refresh tired leggings. My favorite leggings by Nylora are currently on sale, so I got another pair and have been eyeing the new sage green color with matching top. I also got a new pair of my favorite bike shorts – these are the absolute best, especially in the summer. I am 5’4″ and like the 6″ length (they feel plenty short), but they do come in other options if you prefer a shorter cut. Also, I know it is the end of July, but this is the coldest summer I can remember in the Bay Area and I have been wearing my go to puffer jacket most foggy mornings. It took me forever to find a puffer I love, and this checks all the boxes. So many I tried were a cropped cut, which does not work well on my larger bust or way too puffy. This is extremely warm and so comfortable, I love how it pairs with the Nylora leggings and my favorite sneakers.

This is the fabric I used on Norman’s bed

I love wearing my jellies just for Daniel’s commentary. These are by far the most “on trend” piece I own and I’m shocked at how much I wear them. They kind of just go with every outfit and the smell brings me right back to 1995!

    We ordered the same drapes for our great room/dining room (they should finally be here today *fingers crossed*) after buying a set for our basement and LOVING them. The weight and texture of them is just perfect. They look gorgeous in your space!
