I may not have pillow covers on my sofa yet (no those are not chic white pillows, but in fact bare inserts), however feel like I am finally ready to start making big progress on our new apartment. We have officially been here two months and although I have purchased a few pieces of furniture, my brain has been so scrambled with the move, being back at work full time and taking care of an almost six month old! The exhaustion is real. My old place was such a labor of love that I really did forget how long it takes to make a house a home with your own space. No matter the size. I do it all day long for clients, that sometimes I just can’t seem to make one more decision for myself and end up feeling uninspired. The more time I have had to sit with this space, the more I feel like I know what I want to do. This is very much a transitional home for us, so unlike our last place I won’t be changing out every little detail I possibly can. It is a good exercise for me in embracing the way it is and learning to live with certain design elements I don’t love. I can’t wait to share more of the progress as I start putting things together. In the meantime I wanted to share some
Things Of Note This Week
Silver Tray: Since the only spot I really have set up is a coffee table and sofa in the living room, I take A LOT of photos of that. I get asked about the silver tray I put my flowers on, almost daily on Instagram. I have shared it a few times, but thought this would be a good place for the link to live. I love how timeless it is and very much looks like an antique! It would also be great for hosting.
Spring Hues – Spring is in the air and I have been on a color kick lately. I just bought these green Adidas and this soft yellow suede bag to balance out a lot of the neutrals I wear this time of year. I also got the new Italian cashmere touch button down from Frank & Eileen and can not say enough good things about the material, it is buttery soft! It is the perfect spring staple for days or nights when the sun is out, but it is not too warm.
Skincare Additions – Between the incredibly dry winter and being six months postpartum, my skin and hair have never been worse in my life. I always feel dry no matter what I do, but I have found a few new additions to my routine are starting to truly make a difference. I pulled some of the serums that I felt might be drying me out and switched up my moisturizer to a classic IS Clinical option I used to use. For whatever reason it was like magic to my broken out and chapped chin and absorbs into the skin so nicely. It feels lightweight, which makes you think it wouldn’t be as hydrating, but it really does the job so well. I have also been using the True Botanicals Lip Oil for weeks and it is a game changer! I love that it is a thick gloss, but isn’t sticky. I put it on before bed and wake up with hydrated, soft lips.
My hair also needed some real love. I think this is one of my biggest postpartum struggles I wasn’t expecting. Instead of hair loss I just have a total change in my hair texture and it is always frizzy. It also feels like it doubled in volume (sadly not the glamours kind, but the poofy unmanageable kind). I started using the Roz FoundationHair Mask instead of conditioner and their Milk Hair Serum religiously and my hair has done a total 180. It is softer, easier to brush and overall doesn’t look as unruly.
Scent I’m Burning – The California Candle Co. Citrus Grove Candle, wow this is so good even when unlit! I just keep moving it from room to room.

I know it’s only March, but when you find the perfect swimsuit – this buttercream colored ribbed option is so thick and comfortable!
