Breaking Down My Window Treatments

Living Room
Wall Color: Two coats of Pointing by Farrow & Ball, One coat of Wimborne White

I recently upgraded our window treatments in the living room and have since gotten a lot of questions about them. I love the Pottery Barn drapes we had in there previously, but I got them shortly after we moved in just to have something and they always felt a little flat in that space, so I moved them to our more casual family room. I wanted a fuller pleated option and because this room gets so much sunlight (making it quite hot) I wanted to add matching roman shades. I love how they look together and overall have been very happy with the Patti line from TwoPages.

Drapery – Patti Linen, Off- White, Pinch Pleat, Cotton Privacy Lined

Roman Shades – Patti Linen, Off – White, Privacy Lined, White Cord

Return Drapery Rod – Cast Iron Black, I always do the .75” diameter because I think the thinner look is very chic
(if you have a very long space and need custom sizing, I have used Paso Robles Ironworks return rod and have been very happy with the quality. I use PB in my own space because they are much cheaper and look great. I have used for years with no issues!

Drapery – Color Natural, Tailor Pleat, Privacy Liner. The tailor pleat feels slightly more relaxed than a pinch pleat, it’s subtle, but a little less structured and I like that in a bedroom.

Sunroom
Semi Custom Shades – color carbonized

It took my almost nine months to get window treatments for the sunroom because these windows are huge and I couldn’t justify the price of anything I looked at for a rental. These woven shades come in a ton of width and length options and are great if you need an inexpensive shade. I think I did the whole room for about $400 including the door. They just hang from simple hooks and roll up. I have them down most of the time, but if you needed to open and close multiple times a day, fair warning they are not the smoothest cord mechanism, but otherwise I have been so happy with them. They are unlined so you can still see through a lot, but from the outside they offer some privacy.

Drapery – Ivory White, Tailor Pleat, Blackout Lining (the Liz is much more textured than the Patti, but I wanted something heavier in here with the blackout liner)

Cordless Roman Shade – Ivory White, Blackout Liner

Chik Blinds – if you just message Omi with your sizing needed he will give you a quote. He is doing more business through his Ebay shop now which is where I ordered mine, but if you don’t have an Ebay account – there are a ton of vendors on Etsy like here and here.

I wish I could do these in the sunroom, but they are pricy! However if you are investing in window treatments you will have for a long time – they really are so stunning. I know they are really popular right now, but for good reason, they add so much charm especially in an otherwise very simple space and if you have a warm space like me – they do help with temperature control a little.
