One of the trickiest aspects of living in a small apartment and working from home is the lack of a proper office space. Since many of you are now thrust into working from home for the unforeseeable future, carving out a space to make that easier is crucial. I had a request to share some of my favorite desks that could work in a pinch and how you don’t need a home office to make a calming workspace for yourself.

Make Your Living Room Multi – Purpose

I often dream of using our bay window space for another piece of furniture like a dining table or a cute pair of chairs, but since I use my desk every single day – anything else would be impractical. It doesn’t always look the best to make your living room multi functional, but when you blend your workspace into the rest of your decor, it tends to not stick out so much. I mentioned in this post how I am able to get away with a very simple set up (i.e. no big filing cabinet and papers everywhere). Have room behind or next to a sofa? Those can often be great places to work in a small desk! I even turned my console table into a desk a few years ago which worked out great.

I really love the look of a desk used for nightstand purposes. Although many of us don’t have the space for a large set up, even a small desk can make a big difference. If you are working with a smaller space, adding a small dining chair will help it from feeling too cluttered or overwhelming.
