I get a lot of questions about the large plant in our living room and how I maintain it. I am by no means a plant aficionado, but I have learned a lot about the plants that work best indoors from trial and error (aka killing every plant I owned) Plants are particular and vary a lot based on their environment, so everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt and more as a general rule of thumb, but here is a list of my favorite indoor plants.

My bird of paradise had some wrinkled, curled leaves when it was given to me and though it’s very large now the new leaves often still look that way.
Any suggestions?
Hi Jan! Unfortunately I have the same problem with mine – I rotate the entire plant about once a week so different areas are exposed to different light, which I have found can help. Good luck!
Is there a certain type of soil you like to use for these plants?
Hi Ruth! I don’t actually re pot them because I found they lasted longer in my space that way. Therefore I don’t add any additional soil to them. Hope this helps!
