A Love Letter to New England

I love that I was born and raised in California and for the longest time it was something I identified with. As I have gotten older I have found that there are so many places I love just as much as my home state. When we took our road trip through New England last fall I fell completely head over heels for that part of the country. I had been to the East Coast before, but there was something so magical about taking time to really appreciate the nuances of what some of the smaller states have to offer. I am itching to get back there as soon as possible and experience different regions during different seasons. I dream of moving to New England some day and restoring an old farmhouse (basically my dream home is the photo above) So far some of my favorite destination points include Woodstock and Shelburne Vermont and most of the small towns on the coast of Maine including Boothbay and Camden.

Eventually I would like to make my way over to Rhode Island (especially Newport) and see more of Massachusetts and Conneticut, but I would love to hear some of your favorite can’t miss places. There is so much I don’t know about parts of New England and it is always nice to hear about it from people who either live there or have spent a lot of time in the area opposed to a guide book. For now I will just have to keep Pinning away until my next trip!
