Neutral Pillow Combinations

I have gotten a few requests to do a new pillow combination roundup, but I thought it might be fun to focus on neutral pillows because that is usually what I end up pulling. Pillows don’t have to be heavily patterned or colorful to add interest to a space and often a simple touch of texture goes a long way. These are some of my favorite simple combinations that can work with just about any style in a variety of spaces!

Your room is so beautiful!!! I came across your blog searching for ideas to warm up a grey sectional I recently bought and it turned out to be a little darker than expected. I love how you warmed up your space with the creamy neutral pillows along with the that rug!!! So beautiful and cozy!!! The console table behind your couch added the perfect touch. Love the pop of white in the totem lamp along with the art work. It just wraps everything up so nicely. ❤️ May I ask where you purchased your rug? I am in love!!!!

    Hey there,
I love that new Vintage Chinese Wedding blanket lumbar that you feature on your couch!:) so pretty! Did you happen to get it from Etsy from myhavenhome? I have a question!!! We have a similar colored couch and a Ben ourain rug of which the design is dark dark brown not black, layered over a sisal rug. I got some pillows with mostly blue tones but am now wondering if I should have gotten more of browns or sandish to help tie in the rug? What are your thoughts with regards to decorative pillows colors needing to tie into the colors featured in a rug?? Thanks!!!

    • I did get it from My Haven Home – one of my favorite shops for vintage pillows. Blue works so well with brown tones too. Sisal and Beni Ourain rugs are both incredibly neutral and can kind of work with any color / style. Pillows don’t need to match your rug at all and in fact can play off of each other nicely when they don’t!

I love all of your posts! Your style is awesome and your info is so helpful.

I realize this isn’t related to pillows, but I was curious if and how you incorporate personal photos into your decor.

    Thanks!!

    • Thank you so much Sierra!
I like to mix personal photos by blending them with artwork. A leaning picture frame on my bookshelves or desk. Or a small frame next to my bed. We don’t have a ton a space so I try and keep out a few of the most special photos and have the rest in albums.
