Party of Three

I shared on Instagram this past weekend that Daniel and I are expecting a baby boy, due in October. I was absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of messages and comments from all of you with your love and encouragement. I can’t thank you all enough! I know social media can be this incredibly hectic place (now more than ever), but I message back and forth with so many of you weekly, it really feels like friends from afar. Especially when sharing such big news and feeling so much love in return, it is really incredible! I know not all of you are on Instagram and the biggest question asked was – will we be leaving our apartment? The short answer is not right now. The idea of moving while pregnant sounded so stressful and I love our little space so much, I really couldn’t imagine bringing our first baby home anywhere else. Since we will be in full nesting mode through the holidays it feels like perfect timing. Of course we will outgrow this space, probably sooner rather than later, but for the time being I am so excited to transition into a family of three (well obviously four with Norman!)

It has felt so weird keeping this a secret for the past seven months since it is the biggest life change I have gone through thus far, but also really nice to just sit with it and be very present. I know baby content is really not for everyone, so I am going to keep it very minimal around here. Every so often I will share some product requests or lifestyle adjustments such as changes to my beauty routine or clothes – really whatever you want see. I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for all of you following along in this space. Blogging and social media has changed exponentially since I started in 2016 and I feel so lucky to have such a nice community of friends because of it!

Things Of Note This Past Week

Goop just opened a beautiful new store at the Marin Country Mart which I checked out this weekend. I have been such a longtime fan of their skincare products because they really do work and I see noticeable changes. I started using the Peptide Serum in combination with the Water Cream and wow my skin feels so soft! Neither cause any irritation (and I have sensitive skin), but instead absorb into the skin seamlessly and provide more even looking tone. I am excited to see how it works on fine lines over time.

Of course with a baby on the way and living in a very small space, I have been on quite the purging and nesting kick. The Container Store is my bff. I got these basket bins in a few sizes to corral odds & ends on our nightstand and entry and I love the light color. Their canvas bins are also my favorite for our hall closet to store towels, linens and miscellaneous clutter.

I really didn’t want to buy any maternity clothes, but instead look for items I would wear if I wasn’t pregnant that had some stretch. Being that it is summer this worked out perfectly because I was on the hunt for lightweight pants anyway. I bought these linen cropped pants and live in them! They are so comfortable and look great with a button down or simple tee shirt. The cropped cut and pocket detailing makes these feel slightly elevated. Also tee shirt dresses are my go to, especially the Margo from Leset that comes in two different colors and lengths – so classic!

I am so excited for Josh Young’s book, Artful Home that comes out in September. I pre ordered this limited collaboration cover with Williams Sonoma Home which will look so pretty on my coffee table come fall!

My love of small handle bags will never go away and my latest addition, this braided leather bag by Paris/64 is so beautiful! I got the brown color which works for every season, but I am especially excited to pair it with some fall outfits. The small size is ideal for packing on trips and it also comes with a crossbody strap making it more versatile. It also comes in a larger size if that is more your style.

Congratulations on your growing family, Chrissy! I saw the comment on your most recent autumn post and had to hunt for the formal announcement. My daughter is also expecting her first child in February, so I know the excitement you and your husband are feeling. I can’t wait to see how you make room in your present apartment and look forward to the adventure that follows wherever your family moves to the next nest. Blessings as you await your autumn baby. <3

Congratulations, Chrissy and Daniel! That is such wonderful news. Very excited for you, and also looking forward to seeing how you decorate a nursery space and curate and store toys (that is a big design challenge for me personally right now!) Best wishes to your growing family! 🙂
