For as long as I can remember, I have always loved organizing. In some weird way it calms me down and I love knowing where everything is. However, when it comes to our small kitchen pantry I seem to always have the best of intentions to keep it tidy and about a month later it looks like the below before photo. Completely disheveled, everything piled on top of each other and the most ineffective for quickly grabbing while I am cooking. With the new year I realized it was time to get this under control for good and finally get organized. Enter Walmart.com, specifically The Home Edit collection. I have been a longtime fan of The Home Edit and now that they sell their clear plastic storage organizers in ready made sets, it made it super easy to finally tackle this project. Walmart also offers a ton of different storage items from pretty kitchen canisters to drawer organizers which has inspired me to work on even more of the kitchen this year.
I realized part of the problem was I had too much in the pantry. A lot of almost empty spice jars and things past their expiration date, so once I started tossing anything we no longer needed I realized I had more room than I thought to work with. I will say that I am very pro basket, but in the pantry I didn’t find them as effective for daily snacks. Since our shelves are higher I couldn’t always see what was in them and there weren’t always easy to slide out. I really love having everything in the clear storage containers – they are very sturdy and I never miss what I already have in the pantry. My other favorite addition is the simple turntable (is sold out, more here) for all of our misc. condiments. This is honestly a game changer for finding things easier and finally combating that ridiculous stack of jars I had going on before. This project took me all of 45 minutes and truly has made such a difference. It is so refreshing to open the pantry and quickly find what I am looking for!

I love this post, thanks! I’m so curious about your cookbooks…especially the ones with the yellow bookmarks sticking out. Will you do a post on your cookbooks?
Thank you so much Brandi! I actually already have a cookbook post I will link below. Every time I get a new cookbook I mark all of the recipes I want to make with a post it and then start working my way through. Those are a mix of recipes to try and favorites I always make!
