Spring Things

Spring Scents

I often get asked about my favorite candle scents for different times of year and since I am a big floral note lover, spring is one of my favorites! I have SO many, it can be hard to narrow down, but these are the ones I tend to burn the most. Again, I tend to prefer sweeter notes this time of year for most of my apartment, but do love something a bit more earthy in the kitchen to counteract cooking scents, such as this.

Hudson Grace Greenwhich – So fresh with a lighter note of fresh cut grass
Cire Trudon Abd El Kader – one of my all time fresh favorites with notes of mint and jasmine. Not too perfumey
Cire Trudon Positano – this candle is just wonderful. Very high price tag, but the throw is so great you often don’t even have to light it to get the effect. With notes of orange blossom and tuberose, it is quite sweet but makes me feel like I’m on an Italian vacation.
Diptyque Freesia , Diptyque Lys and Diptyque Mimosa – all are a staple around here in the warmer months. Probably the most floral scents I burn and they smell so good without being lit.
Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey – oh do I love this scent. A Jo Malone classic, the honey notes are faint, more like an overall soft citrus for an instant pick me up.
Astier de Villatte Portas de Lilas and Mantes-la-Jolie – The first is the perfect soft lilac scent and the latter is another incredibly fresh citrus & subtle cut grass smell!
For more budget friendly options I love Target’s Grapefruit Basil, Votivo, Lavune and Charleston Candle Co. and Candlefish

DÔEN’s Spring Collection

DÔEN never fails to impress, but this latest collection had me saving every piece. I love their mix of dainty floral patterns and neutral textures that can be dressed up or down. I have a handful of DÔEN dresses, which are incredibly well made and so comfortable to wear.

Latest Release: Colin King Arranging Things
shop book

I am so excited for the release of famed interior stylist Colin King’s book, which comes out today. I have been following Colin for years and am always so inspired by his effortless vignettes, use of tone and texture and the way he plays with light in every space. I can’t wait to mull over the pages when this book comes.

Brand Love – Closed

German brand, CLOSED creates incredibly classic staples and an array of beautiful denim. Their pieces are definitely more of an investment, but with quality and sustainability at the forefront, these designs are built to last. I love a lot of their bags which are better pricing than some higher end designers, yet still mimic their clean shapes and high end materials.
