Things Of Note This Past Week
In photos above: Sweet moments from my wonderful baby shower last weekend. I received quite a few questions about where the little wooden geese are from, so I wanted to link them here and here. I also got a lot of lovely messages about the cake – thank you! Instead of making it myself, I ordered the actual cake from a bakery and just asked them to do a flat buttercream so I could apply these dried flowers. I ordered a few packs of the colors Retro & Boho Style so I could pick and choose the florals I wanted (there were a ton left over) and love how it turned out! Just remove before eating.
In anticipation of the baby’s arrival I have been in full nesting mode over here – purging and prepping everything I can think of to ease my mind. I had been neglecting our bedroom forever since I thought we would move at some point and didn’t want to update any furniture specific to our awkward space. It is hard for me to just leave as is, but I am still not making any major changes. However, since I will be spending a lot more time at home I wanted to get a fresh set of bedding and new drapery. I finally added the drapery panels I have throughout the living room with these cast iron rings. I already had these rods. I had also been wanting to try a duvet cover from Quince because the price point is so good! I went with this classic (still waiting on the shams to come back in stock) and really like the material. It washed very soft and is thinner than the one I had on previously so it is quite nice for summer. I thew this thin blanket at the end of the bed for some contrast which ties it all together. Bonus it is now 40% off!
Continuing with the cozy theme. When we stayed at the Fairmont in Whistler, I treated myself to a heavenly facial and the spa had these robes. I instantly added to my list and purchased right when I got home. I know I will be living in it through the coming months (even more than I already am). The longer length and plush material are both so good! I had also been eyeing a new pair of pajamas (surprise, surprise) and wanted something with a little pattern to offset the sea of neutrals I gravitate towards. Rhode always has the best patterns and I am very familiar with their pretty dresses, but had never purchased one of their pajama sets. I wanted something really lightweight and more of a roomy cut, so I got these in the rose block print in size small. They are SO comfortable to sleep and lounge in. If you want a great budget option, my favorite inexpensive satin pj’s now come in a cute short set!
I know it is only August, but you all know how much I love Fall and all the charm the season brings. I started pulling together my fall home shop where I will be adding all of my favorite pieces throughout the coming months. I swear every year items I am eyeing sell out long before the height of the season. I missed out on these terracotta pumpkins last year because I waited too long, so I made sure to get a few for my front steps while they are still in stock!
