Things Of Note This Past Week

I have been so MIA around here lately! Life has very much been lifing. The summer always feels like the weeks fly by and every weekend is packed with get togethers and events. I am looking forward to a much needed family trip to Park City for the Fourth filled with a lot of time outside. I share a lot of links to pieces I have been buying on Instagram, but I know it often gets missed so I wanted to do a little recap of recent purchases on here. After having Augie so much about my body has changed and I have needed to overhaul a lot. Not just in clothes fitting different, but my skin and my hair – it was like every product I had used previously no longer worked in the way it did before. Of course, this is an ongoing process, but I have been trying a lot more to see what I like instead of going with what I am used to!

I am still working on every room in our apartment in some capacity, but I started with the kitchen and that is the space I have done the most to as of now. I recently added these custom Chik blinds. I went back and forth because they are so on trend and everywhere, but I see them as a classic style and they really are functional for keeping the afternoon heat at bay. I also added these chairs which I will be putting cushions on at some point, even though they are very comfortable without and this custom linen tablecloth. I love how cozy this space is starting to feel! I also finally replaced the hardware with one of my favorite pulls. This kitchen has no knobs (pulls only) so I wanted something very simple and the oil rubbed bronze finish felt right with the horrible countertops and lantern light. My banquette is also 40% off right now!

I had been on the hunt for a good pair of overalls that didn’t look ridiculous on me for a while. Enter my new favorite everyday wear – these are so comfy. The perfect lightweight material that has a little stretch. I got the white and love to pair with a simple t shirt. I have been loving the soft styles from Marine Layer, like this one and this. I also live in linen pants because they are essentially lounge pants that look pulled together and now have these in three colors. The black plaid is so cute and would be a great transitional fall piece as well. I have also been on a big eyelet kick lately, so had to get these (also come in shorts) – they are so comfortable and have a lining.

When summer rolls around, I like to change up certain skin and hair products that work better for me with the heat and sun. I have been using a few new to me holy grail products that have honestly made a huge difference. I shared this sunscreen serum the other day and honestly can’t say enough great things about it. I use it everyday and have never tried another product like it. I pair it with the new Merit tined SPF for subtle smooth coverage and high sun protection. I also love the Merit cream blush on top for a natural flushed look. For skincare – the Elemis It List Kit is incredible. I have been using all three products everyday and truly feel like my skin is brighter and smoother. The resurfacing facial pads are my favorite because they don’t feel like they strip the skin and both the cleanser and moisturizer are so hydrating! Additionally this scalp scrub and hair oil have honestly transformed by dry itchy winter scalp and made my hair look shinier and overall feel healthier.
