Winter Skincare Favorites

Even with the relatively mild winters we get here in California, my skin always takes a turn for the worse as the weather starts to shift. After we got home I noticed how dry my skin was from being in a totally different climate and multiple long flights back to back. Like most people I have slowly been making the shift to clean skincare products and eliminating anything that is harmful to my body. I have simplified my steps a lot over the last few months, but I do like to include some richer products in the winter to combat dryness and looking dull.

Winter Skincare Favorites

SUSANNE KAUFMANN
Body Butter

This is by far my favorite body cream! It really moisturizes without leaving any residue and has such a nice lightweight scent.

TATA HARPER
Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil

Face oil has quickly become an essential part of my skincare routine. I have tried a ton, but keep coming back to Tata Harper’s. It gives me such a nice dewy look. and never irritates.

DR. BARBARA STURM
Lip Balm

I have talked about my love for this product before and it really is so good. It is very pricey, but all of Barbara Sturm’s products are so well made and last a long time. I also use this a lot on my lips and cuticles if you want a much cheaper alternative.

iS CLINICAL
Pro Heal Serum Advance

My skin tends to get red and inflamed after a lot of travel or being outside on cold days. I have been using this serum for a while now and find it is the perfect layer underneath my moisturizer and face oil. It helps prevent breakouts and soothes inflammation. At the recommendation of my facialist I also use this 2x per week at night for wrinkles and fine lines.

TATA HARPER
Clarifying Moisturizer

This is a lightweight moisturizer that I use all year long, but I had to share it again. In combination with the Tata face oil, this provides all the moisture I need without making me breakout and actually helping to prevent future breakouts.

DR. JART+
Sheet Masks

I actually look forward to applying a Dr. Jart sheet mask when I am in the bath or just hanging around the house. There are so many options, all providing another level of hydration. My favorites are the Hydra Solution and the Microjet Clearing Solution.

For reference I apply my skincare as follows and try to be diligent about all the steps for best results. In the shower I use this cleanser or this, I love the feel of both! The Indie Lee really helps to get makeup off and I use the Juice Beauty one when I feel like I need some extra moisture. After the shower (or in the morning & evening) I apply my eye cream, serum (wait a minute for it to absorb into the skin) face oil and then moisturizer. On random evenings I apply one of my favorite Overnight Masks or a sheet mask. I will be updating this as I add new products to my routine, but I have been sticking with this consistently and have already noticed a difference in my skin! I also plan to breakdown my makeup routine as well, so stay tuned.

I’ve been loving Weleda’s Skin Food on Face/Neck this winter. It takes some getting used to as it is a bit thick but after two weeks my skin is SO soft and hydrated. It’s clean and $16! I’m obsessed.

Always love skin product posts, so thank you!
