Candle Accents

My obsession with candles runs very deep. Not just candles, but small accents that can accompany the candle and change the look and feel, adding in another layer. I receive so many questions in regards to candles, my glass hurricanes and the little dishes you often see underneath a candle scattered throughout my apartment. You can find a lot of these on my Candle Shop page, but I wanted to breakdown a few of my favorite styles. I use everything from saucers to coasters under my candles and will often use the glass hurricanes as a vase – multi functional!

How do you clean out the old wax? I have candles that no longer burn but I’d love to keep the glass they came in. I’ve tried freezing them and digging them out but nothing’s worked. Thanks!

    • Hi Emily!

It really depends on how much of the candle is left how it burned (i.e. if there is a lot of wax build up on the sides) I try to leave a little bit at the end and then cut around it with a sharp knife to pop out the remaining amount. I then soak it in hot soapy water to get any excess wax off. Hope this helps!
