I am all about new beginnings. I oddly love a Monday morning and look forward to a new year. Anything that feels like a time to reset and embrace a clean slate. Although I don’t set specific New Years resolutions I am big on reflections and setting intentions for the year ahead. After having Augie I kind of let all of those things go. My life became more about the day to day and less about the bigger picture which can be great, but I do find immense comfort in daydreaming about the year ahead and the personal goals I want to achieve. Of course with any change of season or calendar, I like to pull a fresh batch of inspiration. Making mood boards, whether physical or digital will always bring me joy. Seeing fresh colors, outfits, patterns and interiors in my workspace brings a sense of motivation. I also love cleaning out my closet, throwing away old beauty products and starting 2026 with a clear home and headspace.
For me, this year is about play. I have always been a mix of very carefree and extremely regimented, but as I have gotten older and life naturally has more responsibilities and stress, that carefree side can take more of a backseat. However my life has changed drastically in the past year and becoming a mom reminded me of the importance of play. Life doesn’t have to be so serious all the time. Of course the world outside is chaotic and scary and I don’t want to be naive to important issues, but I have learned my energy cannot be put into everything. I am happiest when I let go. When I enjoy the in between moments instead of only waiting for the big ones. I know I have said I am going to show up on here more and have completely failed on that front, but this year I am going to and hopefully in new ways. The HJ Home Shop will be coming back this month with new goods for sale and if you aren’t on Instagram or social media anymore I have started linking some of those posts through ShopMy so you can still peruse the items I am linking. I feel excited – to breathe new life into this space and for a wonderful year ahead. Wishing you all a beautiful 2026 and thank you for being here. Somehow Harlowe James turns ten this year which I can’t even wrap my head around. I couldn’t do any of this without all of you supporting me for the past ten years, so truly thank you endlessly!
