A simple, but put together guest room can make hosting people at your home so much more enjoyable. Especially with the holidays coming up when friends and family seem to flock and stay for longer than expected. Sadly we live in a one bedroom, but I wanted to show you how I would put my ideal guest bedroom together using some of my favorite pieces from Serena & Lily! Just like with my own bedroom sticking to a neutral palette can make for a more serene setting. A woven headboard brings in beautiful texture, while the new Eucalyptus hued linen duvet adds just enough color.

I love this tone for all seasons because it looks green in some lighting and grey in others. It is such a nice base for layering on pillows and was a smooth transition from my all white bedding that I am used to. As I mentioned on my Instagram stories, I am in love with this ladder style mirror. It is always great to have a full length mirror in a guest room and this serves as a functional yet decorative piece. I like to hang my clothes or bags on it and simply lean it against the wall for a casual look.

Something my mom always did which I try to remember even when we have friends housesitting is to leave out a stack of fresh towels and washcloths. If the guest doesn’t have their own private bathroom it is nice to make it obvious that everything is cleaned and set out for them! We recently switched out all of our old scratchy towels for these and these. It is nice to have two slightly different sets and somehow it instantly made our bathroom feel more elevated. The towels are so fluffy and really hold their shape after multiple washings.

I have learned the hard way that not all guests love the scents you do, but incorporating cozy accents like a neutral candle and some fresh greens will help tie the space together. You want your guests to feel right at home so a few simple additions will create a nice little oasis for them!
