Holiday Entertaining Essentials

The holiday party scene is in full swing which is something I look forward to every year, particularly hosting. Despite not having a dining room or dining table, we host my family every year for a holiday dinner followed by my favorite Sausalito tradition, the lighted boat parade. I have amassed some favorites for easy entertaining, but come Christmastime I like the accents to feel a bit more dressed up. The addition of silver is one of my favorite ways to balance out more casual elements like white linens and classic dishware. An ice bucket, candlestick holders, a gravy boat or salt and pepper shakers are all a great way to incorporate silver without feeling too formal of heavy. I also have a plethora of white platters and serving dishes in different sizes that I like to dress up with a pretty serving spoon or fork with a mother of pearl handle. Of course a holiday gathering wouldn’t be complete without setting the overall mood, so I rely heavily on candlelight, a soft scent and my festive playlist to instantly feel inviting.
