Sunday Wrap Up

Things Of Note This Past Week

I can’t believe December is already here and the holidays are about to be in full swing. We got our tree this weekend and I am so excited to decorate it tonight. This little apartment feels extra magical with the soft glow of Christmas lights and my favorite holiday songs playing on repeat all month long.

A random project I wanted to tackle this year was slowly updating my everyday dishes. I often get asked about the white dishes seen on our open kitchen shelving, but it really is a hodgepodge of pieces I have had since my college housing or work projects with a few new additions. I like a lot of different styles, but many pieces had a grey tone to the white, commonly found in porcelain, but I didn’t love it with my other dishes I wanted to keep (so particular I know!) I have the Williams Sonoma Open Kitchen Soup Bowls which are great, but instead of getting their matching plates I opted for the classic Apilco Tres Grande salad and dinner plates. Of course these are about triple the cost, so I am buying them a few plates at a time, but the weight and style is exactly what I wanted. If you are in the market for classic white dishes and don’t care as much about the small coloring difference or heaviness, the Open Kitchen plates are still beautiful!

Today is the last day of the Harlowe James Home Sale with new markdowns and pieces up to 60% off! And the Sausalito Vase at 30% off!!

Gil Schafer will always be one of my favorite residential architects – every detail is thought of and his homes are true works of art. The latest Design in Mind on PBS showcases a bit of his design process and work as well as getting a glimpse into the G.P Schafer Manhattan office which I promptly want to move into! Also if you don’t own any of his books yet, I can’t recommend them enough. I reference A Place To Call Home all the time and The Great American House is a beauty.

I don’t buy new jeans very often because I have my tried and true, but I wanted a slightly baggier straight leg cut that I could dress up or down and felt different from anything I own. I came across these jeans and instantly fell for the style and wash. They are quite long on me, but I am kind of loving a chunky cuff roll while I toy with the idea of getting them hemmed. They are so comfy and look very cute with a sneaker or heel.

As all the Black Friday craziness winds down, the last sale that took a hold of me was Sephora site wide 20% off with code YAYGIFTING. I always take advantage of these beauty sales to stock up on skincare and finally bought this eye palette for the holidays!
