The Comfort of Holiday Coziness

I remember the moment I watched Amanda Brooks holiday home tour with Zara Home in 2019. I was on a flight to India for my brothers wedding and instantly wanted to go home and replicate the coziness that emulated from the screen. I must have watched that video and her design notes fifty times dissecting all of the elements that made me feel so happy. I have talked about my love for English style at great length, but that love is even more heightened during the holidays. There is a reason many of us are drawn to Iris’s cottage in The Holiday or homes like Amanda Brooks – they feel like what this season is all about, comfort and a bit of nostalgia. Of course this is not limited to English style. I find myself drawn to a plethora of European interiors that have a touch of that rustic edge and an abundance of fresh foliage. We don’t have a big space, so I kind of simplify the details I like and weave in a lot of fresh greenery, candles everywhere and some classic patterns through stockings and accent pillows. I know the more is more approach is not for everyone, but it sure is pretty to look at!

Oh to have a wood burning fireplace

Nora Murphy’s kitchen has long been one of my absolute favorites, no matter the season, but the touch of fresh greenery at Christmas feels extra special and the nighttime scene of her tree in the adjacent room.
