The Classics

Someone recently asked me what five items in my wardrobe would I not be able to live without. The pieces I find myself pulling time and time again – excluding shoes. I didn’t even have to give this much thought because I definitely have a uniform on rotation that keeps my wardrobe small and works with an array of styles. In addition to this list I also wanted to share yet another playlist. Curating playlists brings me so much joy and I find a lot of comfort in that especially now. I am so my father’s daughter and grew up listening to 60’s/70’s classic rock. It has such a piece of my heart and always makes me feel good. You can listen to The Classics playlist now and see my classic wardrobe pieces below.

{ONE} WHITE TEE SHIRT

I reach for tee shirts over a dressy top or blouse most days. They are so easy to dress up or down and I will never grow tired of a classic tee and good denim. Throwing a cool jacket or blazer over a simple shirt elevates the look and they go with just about everything.

{TWO} GOOD DENIM

When you have a quality pair of jeans that fit your body perfectly – you will get so much use out of them! The pair I linked from Paige are hands down what I pull most. I love that they have the look of a “mom jean” but are very fitted. I live in denim so it is important that they don’t dig and always have a little stretch!

{THREE} KNIT SWEATER

I always dress in layers, so having a great sweater to throw over a t shirt or a dress is key. I prefer pull overs to button ups usually, but I am starting to gravitate towards those too. The Cotton Fisherman from Jenni Kayne is one of my favorites – the color is perfect and the style is timeless. Remember you can always get 20% off your order with my code CHRISSY20.

{FOUR} VERSATILE DRESS

Ulla Johnson makes some of my favorite dresses. They are definitely an investment but the reason I am so drawn to them is because of the versatility. There is something about the breezy nature that can be dressed up or dressed down with ease. I have worn them to weddings or on a casual summer day which makes the investment worth it for me!

{FIVE} A NEUTRAL BAG

My Mansur Gavriel mini lady bag is one of my favorite classic pieces. So much so that I want to get it in another lighter color. A neutral bag works with everything – all year long which is why I often gravitate towards them over a black or darker color. I feel like I get much more use out of a great neutral.
