I have always dreamed of hosting a Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving dinner outdoors, but unfortunately I don’t have the outdoor space to do it. One afternoon my best friend and I were driving around Tomales Bay and stumbled upon Straus Home Ranch in Marshall. I instantly fell in love with the property and knew I wanted to do something on their expansive front lawn. The home ranch is a vacation rental and wedding venue that looks like something out of a Nancy Meyers movie. It was the perfect backdrop for this fall inspired tablescape that played off the natural elements in West Marin.
For this intimate gathering I wanted to keep everything fairly organic, only incorporating color through florals and pumpkins. Rough Linen has the most beautiful table linens and I love the way the white napkins compliment the natural runner perfectly. A light layering of linens helps to create the perfect base for punchy flowers. Lining the front steps with different pumpkins, mums and small votive candles made a big impact and looked so beautiful as the sun went down. There really is something so magical about a foggy autumn evening!

So pretty and I’ve always wanted to host Thanksgiving outdoors. In suburban Chicago, not so possible – lol. BUT, you need a chiller for that Veuve!
