This week has felt extraordinarily long even with Monday being a holiday. I was feeling frustrated by my growing to do list and in need of a little inspiration, so I picked up an old issue of Domino magazine which features Jenni Kayne’s house in Lake Tahoe. Jenni Kayne has been one of my biggest style influences for a long time. Although she is a fashion designer, her love of crisp clean silhouettes and classic materials transitions seamlessly into her homes. Both her clothes and her rooms always look comfortable and timeless and I just want to live in them!

I sum up Jenni Kayne’s style in one word, breezy. When I picture her stores or homes they are definitely modern, but never cold or sterile. By combining soft wood finishes, with white linens and warm camel colored accessories she creates a space that is clean but lived in. Another one of my favorite design aspects is the use of great texture. Whether it is a leafy fiddle leaf fig tree in a basket or a speckled ceramic vase the textured peaces are the ones that really stand out to me and round out the overall look.
