{un} Styled

I have always had a very casual personal interiors style. I prefer pieces to feel relaxed and inviting with classic elements layered in. As I work on transitioning out a lot of our living room I realized how much I prefer a laid back styling approach now more than I ever did. I love when elements come together, but don’t look too “done”. I used to feel like I needed a lot of accessories and think I complicated spaces like a coffee table by overly styling. Now I prefer to have less and invest in more stand alone decor that doesn’t need much fluff or filler.

Our living room still needs a lot of work, but I have been enjoying spending time with my own space and discovering new styles I love. Maybe it is because I have been home more in the past few months than I ever have, but I am craving a layering of warmth. I am finally embracing more color, but everything is still rooted in simplicity. More to come soon!

SIMON PEARCE
Large Hurricane

This was essentially a wedding present to myself! I love glass hurricanes and the pieces made by Simon Pearce are beautiful. Daniel and I went to his showroom/ workshop when we were in Vermont and I couldn’t belive how much work went into creating one piece. Definitely worth the investment – they’re timeless!

Countryside Living

Hands down my new favorite coffee table book! The imagery is stunning and so inspiring.

JAIPUR
Jute Rug

I just can’t seem to stay away from Jute. In an effort to warm up our living room I replaced the rug with a pretty honey colored soft jute. I love this bound option which is the perfect effortless style. So far we have had no shedding and it is soft underfoot, which is always a plus with natural fiber rugs.

JENNI KAYNE
Alpaca Throw

I just got this throw and love how soft it is and how pretty it looks just thrown over the sofa. The key to effortless styling is incorporating pieces you actually use so nothing feels too forced or posed. This throw looks great anywhere! (20% off with code Chrissy20)

Hi! Are you still liking this jute rug? I’m thinking of adding it to my living room. Has it held up well? Thanks so much!

Excited to see the updates you make to the space! Curious to know if the drive to change out the lulu & georgia rug you had previously was due to wearing?? I’m considering the rug based on some of your inspo pictures but now 2nd guessing since you swapped yours! Did it wear poorly?
